DEFOREST-Jean Irene Schnurbusch, age 84, of DeForest, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 7, 1928, in Marshall, the daughter of Herman and Irene Michaelis. Jean married Richard D. Schnurbusch on June 23,1951, in Madison. She graduated from Livingston Union High School in 1945, and worked as a secretary for several years until her marriage. She then devoted her life to raising her family and creating a loving home wherever her husband’s career led them. Her many travels included stops in Portland, Ore., Anchorage, Ala., Madison, and Park Falls, Somalia, the Sultanate of Oman, and Seattle, Wash. After her husband’s death, she moved to DeForest to be near her grandchildren and continued her legacy of family devotion by being a mentor, confidant, and the best grandmother ever.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Steven) Pfeifer and Lisa (Gregory) Koch; her
granddaughters, Lindsey, Jillian, and Courtney Pfeifer; her brothers, Warren (Marcella)Michaelis and Donald (Vivian) Michaelis; sisters-in-law, Mary (Lynn) Michaelis and Bernice(Donald) Schnurbusch; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her brother, Lynn F. Michaelis; and her nephew, Terry Michaelis.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 with Rev. Gary Froseth presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.

Visitation:
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive,Madison, at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 with Rev. Gary Froseth presiding.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
