Janette Myrtle Stelter
JANESVILLE–Janette Myrtle Stelter, age 72, of Ferryville and Janesville, died on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Our House Memory Care, Janesville.
She was born in Hanover on June 5, 1942, the daughter of David and Dorothy (Wesenberg) Johnson. She married Eugene Stelter on June 18, 1960, in Janesville. They spent the majority of their marriage in Janesville until they moved to Ferryville in 1996. Janette was a stay at home mom and volunteered as a Girl Scout and 4-H leader during the time her children were involved in these activities. She was also a Sunday School Teacher for many years at the Footville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and reading in her spare time.
Janette is survived by her husband, Eugene; 4 daughters: Cheri (Jim) Zahasky of Black River Falls, Meri (Jay) Deremo, Christine Baumann and Teresa (Joe) Guerra all of Janesville; son, David Stelter of Footville; 20 grandchildren: Meredith (Ben), Christopher, Erin (Drew), Rachel, Brandi (Jacob), Kegane, Emily, Aaron, Ashley, Charles, Michael, Cassie, Taylor Ann, Timothy, Ivy, Noah, Garrett, Evan, Alex, and Gwen: 6 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Stelter of Janesville; brother, Wayne (Gail) Johnson of Janesville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at AFTON COMMUNITY CHURCH with Rev. Phil Ramsey officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Lasting Memorials may be made to Cure PSP, or Mercy Hospice Care.
