Janesville police arrest two in iPod theft

Two people in Rock County are behind bars after they beat up a victim and tried to steal his iPod late Friday night, according to Janesville Police.

The incident happened in the 500 block of South Academy Street in Janesville around 10p.m. Friday.

According to police, a man was walking north on South Academy when Nathan Bates, 24, of Janesville and Montell Jennings, 23, of Beloit robbed and beat up the victim. Police said Bates and Jennings also took the victim’s iPod.

Police said the men ran into a house on South Academy after the incident. Police arrived, got Bates and Jennings to come out, and recovered the iPod. The men are being held at the Rock County Jail.

The victim suffered abrasions to his right shoulder and elbow, according to police.
