Janesville man hits girlfriend while intoxicated, drives away, police say
JANESVILLE, Wis. — Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance Sunday at 10:47 p.m. at 6219 S. Highway 51 in Rock Township.
According to a release, the reporting part advised that the suspect, Ryan H. Avery, 32 years old from Janesville, hit his girlfriend and was intoxicated.
Officials said deputies were in route to the address when Avery left the residence in his truck. A deputy found Avery driving just down the road from the residence.
Avery had signs of being intoxicated. Officials said he admitted to drinking alcohol before driving. After field sobriety tests, the release said Avery was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated fourth offense and other domestic related charges.
He was taken to Rock County Jail.
