Janesville man faces 5th-offense OWI charges
Police: 36-year-old allegedly pulled out of driveway without yielding to traffic
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville man was arrested on drunken driving charges after allegedly pulling out of a driveway without yielding to oncoming traffic early Sunday morning, according to a release.
Just before 1:20 a.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop with Clifford Grice, 36, of Janesville, for failing to yield the right of way as he pulled out from a driveway on Center Avenue in Janesville, officials said.
A Rock County sheriff’s deputy could smell alcohol on Grice’s breath while assisting with the investigation, according to the release. The deputy conducted field sobriety tests, and Grice was subsequently arrested on a fifth-offense operating while intoxicated charge, and was cited for failure to yield the right of way, prohibited alcohol concentration and operating after revocation.
Grice will be in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
