Janesville man arrested for 7th OWI, police say
TOWN OF BELOIT, Wis. — A Rock County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Janesville man Saturday night for a 7th-offense OWI, according to a news release.
Edward D. Lund, 59, was arrested around 7:20 p.m. Saturday after he was stopped for a registration violation. The responding officer asked Lund to exit his vehicle to show him what the issue with the license plate was, and when Lund exited the vehicle, the responding officer smelled alcohol.
During the subsequent investigation, the responding officer discovered that Lund, who has six prior OWI convictions, has a 0.02 blood alcohol restriction. Police said Lund consented to a blood draw and results are pending.
