Janesville businesses donate food, resources as officials search for fugitive

As about 175 local, state and federal officials continue to search for a wanted Janesville man , several businesses in the area have donated food to keep the investigators fueled.

Numerous law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, ATF and state and local authorities are searching for Joseph Jakubowski, who is suspected of robbing a Janesville gun shop Tuesday before making threatening remarks toward schools and politicians .

To help authorities keep up the search, Culver’s on Milton Avenue donated 50 hamburgers and 50 cheeseburgers for officials to chow down on Friday night.

A little way down the road, Dunkin’ Donuts donated dozens of donuts for breakfast Saturday morning. Manager Tina Henthorn said the investigators are more than welcome to continue to get donuts as the manhunt for Joseph Jakubowski continues.

“It makes you feel good because you know that they’re out there protecting us, so it makes you feel like, ‘Wow, we can give back to them that are out there making us safe,'” Henthorn said.Janesville businesses donate food, resources as officials search for fugitive

Pizza Hut on Milton Avenue planned to bring pizzas and pasta to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office for dinner Saturday night.

The Sheriff’s Office said the community support has been amazing.

“Advertising companies have volunteered their services to further aid in the identification and apprehension of this dangerous individual. Businesses and individual citizens have gone so far as to deliver food and water to investigators. This level of support is certainly appreciated during this difficult and dangerous search,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The Sheriff’s Office said Walmart, Festival Foods and Schneider Funeral Home in Janesville have also helped out by donating food and resources. Lamar Signs and Adams Outdoor have helped by putting Jakubowski’s picture on billboards across the state.
