James R. Moriva ‘Jimmy’, 50, of Muscoda, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family.

He was born February 22, 1964 in Milwaukee the son of Richard and Eleanor (Pursell) Moriva. Jimmy graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1982. On June 5, 1992 Jimmy was united in marriage to Tina Shaw in Beloit.

Jimmy worked at the UW Madison for several years before working at the WSPF, in Boscobel. He enjoyed playing euchre, mushroom hunting, deer hunting, and ginseng. Jimmy enjoyed watching sports including the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers. He especially enjoyed anything his son Riley played in. Jimmy coached his son in basketball and baseball. The two would play each other one on one in basketball.

Jimmy is survived by his son: Riley Moriva (special friend Sydney Meeker) of Muscoda; Step-daughter: Ashlee Wittman (special friend Ryan Ariss) of Muscoda; Grandson: Owen Wittman of Muscoda; Tina Moriva of Richland Center; Mother: Eleanor Moriva of Beloit; Brother: Curtis (Linda) Moriva of Edergton; Sisters: Rhonda (Richard) Wheatcraft of Staley, NC, Mary Lynn Tyler of Beloit; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Richard and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Peter Auer with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the departure for the church at 10:45 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements
