James R. Jacobson
James R. Jacobson, age 83 of Dodgeville, peacefully passed away after a short stay at Three Pillars nursing facility in Dousman, WI on February 23, 2017.
He was born on November 14, 1933, a son of Harvey and Ella Jacobson. He graduated in 1952 from Cobb High School. James was married to Sandra (Gearhart) Jacobson, of Hopkinton, IA on November 21, 1959. James and his wife Sandra were dairy farmers in Dodgeville where they raised their family. James was a dedicated hard working man who was unselfish, kind and always wanted to do the right thing. He showed great love to and was proud of his family. James’ hobbies revolved around farming. He enjoyed each season of cultivating, planting and reaping the crops. He tended to his dairy herd and loved the new born calves, his horse and his dogs.
James is survived by his four loving children, Ronald (Carla) Jacobson, of Dodgeville, Sharon (Joseph) Williams, of Milwaukee, Richard Jacobson, of Dodgeville, Jennifer (Jason) Von Ruden, of Dousman; 7 grandchildren, Steven and Brian Williams, of Milwaukee, Jalissa, Jorah and Olivia Jacobson, of Dodgeville, Rebecca and Amanda Von Ruden, of Dousman; his dear friend Muffy Swingen, of Dodgeville; two great grandchildren, Andre Price and Damien Williams, both of Milwaukee; his two sisters Darlene Ingrassia, of Beloit and Mildred Johnsen of Cobb.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sandra, his parents Harvey and Ella Jacobson, and his two brothers Obud and Harland Jacobson.
Funeral Services for James Jacobson will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Mark Williamson will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH. Luncheon will be held following burial at Grace Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Three Pillars, Allay Cares (Hospice) or a charity of your choice.
