James P. Weiske
James P. Weiske “Big Jim”, 52, of Jefferson, passed away September 19, 2013.
Jim was born October 30, 1960 in La Crosse, WI. He was a member of the St. Coletta community for over twenty years.
Jim had worked at several jobs including Opportunities, UW-Whitewater, Affirmative Ind. and on campus at Alverno and St. Joseph’s.
Jim was a sports fan and enjoyed going to Brewer and Bucks games. He liked to bowl and participated in the Special Olympics in swimming and track. He enjoyed music, movies, going out to eat and partying with his many friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his foster parents, Lester and Aneva (Lemke) Traxler of Fort Atkinson. He is survived by his sisters, Joan (Tim) Gruenwald and Julaine (Roger) Beck both of Janesville; two nephews, Bob (Beth) Gruenwald of Janesville and Jim (Colleen) Gruenwald of Harrogate, England; a niece, Randi (Dennis) Des Lauries of Ixonia; plus special friend, Maria Fritschi and good friends Kent Johnson and David Brady.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 in the Chapel at Alverno, N4637 County Hwy Y, Jefferson, WI 53549. A time of remembrance will be held at 2:30 p.m. followed by Mass. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra on Friday, September 27 at 11 a.m.
The Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff who took care of Jim. We know he was in good hands and very much loved.
