James Edward Kratochwill
James Kratochwill, 85, of Muscoda passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Richland Hospital. He was born August 19, 1926 in Muscoda, son of Joseph and Bessie (Hodach) Kratochwill. Jim graduated from MATC specializing in watch repair and moved to Milwaukee where he lived for 20 years. In 1967 he moved back to the house where he was born in Muscoda. Jim worked for many jewelry stores repairing over 27,000 watches while living in Muscoda. Jim was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Muscoda Lions and bowled with the Lutheran Legion.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Melvin.
He is survived by his sister Betty (Mike) Linley ; niece Mary (Rick) Phillips and nephews: Mike (Deb) Linley, Tim (Donna) Linley, and Steve (Fran) Linley. He is further survived by a grand niece, grand nephews, and other relatives.
The family is especially grateful to Jim Victora who provided friendship, support, and assistance to Jim in recent years. They would also like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center where Jim resided since last October.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 2:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Peter Auer officiating. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM before the departure to the church. A rosary will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 1:45 PM just prior to the mass at 2:00 PM. The Godager Pratt Funeral Home of Muscoda is assisting the family with their arrangements.
