James A. Crawford
POYNETTE- James A. Crawford, age 55, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at St. Clare Hospice House after a two and a half year battle with kidney cancer. He was born on May 24, 1957, in Madison, the son of James E. and Marlene (Marks) Crawford. Jim attended Waunakee and later Lodi schools as a child and graduated with the Lodi class of 1975. On Sept. 12, 2003, he was united in marriage to Capri Lione. Jim worked as a roofer for over 20 years and later owned the Korner Keg Bar in Martinsville. Here he enjoyed watching Badger and Packer football and playing darts. Jim was known for his love of racing and Nascar, enjoying his yearly race trips to Indy with many close friends and family. But his true love was being a Grandpa and spending time with his four grandchildren. Jim also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Butter.
In addition to his loving wife, Capri, he is survived by his parents, James E. and Marlene Crawford of Poynette; two sons, Dan Crawford and Joe Crawford, both of DeForest; four grandchildren, Joey Jr., Addison, Logan and Landon; and three siblings, Debbie (Alex) Contreras of Madison, Duane (Lisa) Crawford of Poynette and Jean (David) Bible of DeForest. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; and step-son, Will Karls.
A Celebration of James’ Life will be held at HAMRE-GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 South Main Street, Lodi, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. Jim’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Clare Hospice House and requests that memorials be made to hospice in his honor.
