Ivan “Ike” Schroeder
Ivan (Ike) Schroeder, 92, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Reena Assisted Living in Fort Atkinson.
Ike was born on August 12, 1925 in Reedsburg, son of the late Ivan and Florence Schroeder.
He graduated from Reedsburg High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1943. Ike served his country in the Pacific during WWII.
Ike moved to Milwaukee with his family in 1951 where he continued to reside until recent health problems which led him to live closer to his family.
He was an avid player and fan of tennis and loved his Packers and Brewers. He also enjoyed his many travels to Las Vegas.
He is survived by his son, Rick (Paula) Schroeder of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Lisa Schroeder of Cottage Grove, Terri (Sean) Connery of McFarland and Derek Schroeder of Delavan; great grandchildren, Alysha, Hailey, Colton and Cody and many other relatives and friends. Ike was also preceded in death by his son, Kerry and twin siblings at birth.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Fort Atkinson. Military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be held at a later date in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg.
The family would like to thank the staff of Reena Assisted Living and Rainbow Hospice for their loving care and support.
