The owner of Isthmus Publishing Company is selling to a group of owners who currently run a meal-card plan for students and includes a former Green Bay Packer.

In a post on the Isthmus website, The Daily Page, on Thursday, Vince O’Hern announced the sale to the owners of Red Card Media: Jeff Haupt, Craig Bartlett and Mark Tauscher, who’s a former Green Bay Packer. O’Hern said Haupt and Bartlett have Madison publishing experience with the Onion. Haupt is a UW marketing and management graduate. Bartlett has worked with the Mallards and Adams Outdoor Advertising.

Tauscher played for the University of Wisconsin Badgers and was drafted by the Packers in 2000, playing for Green Bay for 10 years. He currently does color commentary on Badgers and Packers radio broadcasts.

O’Hern’s wife, associate publisher Linda Baldwin O’Hern, will also leave the Isthmus, but the couple will stay in Madison.

O’Hern started Isthmus in 1976. The sale was completed Wednesday. The sale terms were not released.
