Irene M. Jorgenson
STOUGHTON/MADISON-Irene M. Jorgenson, age 81, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012, at Harmony Living Center in McFarland. She was born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Vienna Township, the daughter of John and Anna (Lunde) Haarklau.
She married Harold Jorgenson on March 7, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa, and he preceded her in death in 1996. Irene worked for Red Dot Potato Chips, Quality Laundry, and Nazareth House in Stoughton; she retired in 1992. Irene enjoyed helping others and cleaning for people, which was her specialty. She also enjoyed taking walks and traveling.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Kenneth) Dahl; son, Harry (Terri Bruechert) Jorgenson; grandchildren, Erin (Justin) Thayer, Jenna (Erik Johnson) Dahl, Tyler Jorgenson, Patrick McGrath, and Adam Bruechert; sisters, Alma (Les) Vale and Joan Kojo; and brother, Roger (Ellen) Haarklau. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Art, Howard, Jerome, Oliver, and Oscar; and sister, Ruby Annen.
Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, with Pastor Sandra Schieble presiding. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Lodi. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family. A special thank you to the staff at Harmony Assisted Living Center for the care they gave to Irene.
