Iowa County Sheriff’s Office looking for caller who reported fake crash
DODGEVILLE, Wis. — The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the caller who reported a fake crash Monday afternoon.
According to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received calls from businesses in Dodgeville reporting that a customer called them and began to order food. The caller later told the businesses that they were involved in a three-vehicle crash with people injured and trapped.
Deputies said the caller provided an address that was close to the businesses, but nothing was found at the location. The number used was also a fake number.
Anyone who knows the caller or has information about the calls is urged to contact the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office at 608-935-3314.
