Investigation underway after plane crashes in Lodi
LODI, Wis. — A pilot is OK after crashing his plane in Columbia County.
Authorities said the plane crash happened around 2:15 p.m. about 100 yards from KD’s Bar and Grill on the 1400 block of Fair Street in Lodi.
Sheriff’s deputies said the pilot is a 73-year-old Town of Dane resident and that he was transported to the hospital after suffering minor injuries from the crash.
The pilot told investigators he was flying low and hit some trees while trying to land at a nearby landing strip.
The plane landed about 50 yards from a nearby house.
The plane received minor damage.
Officials said the plane will be left where it is until the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board decide what should happen next.
