WATCH: Semi fire causes miles-long backup on southbound Interstate 39/90/94 near Lodi
MADISON, Wis. — Traffic was backed up for several miles on the southbound lanes of Interstate 39/90/94 near Lodi due to a vehicle fire Thursday morning, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Officials said the right lane of I-39/90/94 was blocked due to the vehicle fire starting around 9:20 a.m.
Traffic backed up behind the incident for much of the day as people tried to get through the area. As of 11 a.m., the DOT said the backup extended at least four miles. The back end of the congestion was visible on DOT camera feeds of the interstate near Poynette.
WisDOT reported the scene was cleared just before 3:40 p.m.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said the fire involved a semi trailer that crashed before starting on fire. No injuries were reported in the crash or fire.
