Injured Walmart Shooting Victim Knew Suspect

Sheboygan police are recommending charges of first-degree reckless homicide and attempted reckless homicide against the 21-year-old man accused in a fatal shooting outside a Walmart store.

Pheng Lee, 20, was shot and killed Sunday while standing outside the store with three acquaintances. Another man in the group was shot and critically wounded.

Capt. James Veeser said Monday the wounded man knew the suspect and identified him for police. Veeser said some type of conversation preceded the incident in which the gunman fired multiple shots. Two others in the victims’ group were not injured.

Veeser said the 21-year-old suspected gunman has a criminal past and is in jail on a probation hold. Police have forwarded the case to the Sheboygan County district attorney’s office.
