Icy conditions are dangerous for everyone, even for a swan.

Madison’s Fire Lake Rescue Team rescued a tundra swan found stranded and injured on the ice of Lake Mendota Sunday afternoon.

Officials said concerned citizens called the incident in. The swan was about 200 feet from the shore of Picnic Point when it appeared frozen to the ice.

The swan is now in the hands of the Dane County Humane Society.
