In the 608: Wollersheim releases new wine ahead of Mallards opener

MADISON, Wis. – Anticipation is building for the return to baseball at Warner Park as the Mallards are back later this month.

The team recently unveiled their new logo, meant to signify the team’s connection with Madison. It features mascot, Maynard G. Mallard standing over a home plate made of cheese with a foot in each lake.

Wollersheim Winery is unveiling a brand new wine that fans will soon be able to enjoy. It’s called “The Great Bam-Vino.” News 3 Now This Morning got an exclusive sneak peak.

Local means something to the Mallards, as the team continues to make local partnerships in the community.

Mallards President Vern Stenman said, “We’ve always wanted the Mallards to be reflective of the community we call home.”

The baseball team has not played a game in 20-months and is scheduled to start again on May 31.

Tickets to attend a socially distanced game go on sale May 15th.
