In the 608: Old fashioned voted “quarantini” of choice by Wisconsinites

MADISON, Wis. – A new survey shows the old fashioned cocktail has been voted Wisconsin’s at-home “quarantini” of choice over the last year.

The old fashioned is a cocktail made by muddling sugar with bitter and water, adding whiskey or brandy, and garnishing with orange slice or zest and a cocktail cherry.

News 3 Now This Morning got an inside look at what goes into the adult beverage at no other than The Old Fashioned itself on Capitol Square. Since its opening in 2005, The Old Fashioned has become a local institution serving the quintessential foods that make Wisconsin famous.

The Old Fashioned is also known for its cheese curds having won best cheese curds in the state in 2019, according to USA Today.

The above “quarantini” survey results were taken from a study done by Treatment For Addiction, which also emphasizes the importance of responsible drinking.
