In the 608: How to support local businesses on ‘608 Day’

MADISON, Wis. – Hilldale Shopping Center is celebrating everything great about the 608 for (608) Day happening Wednesday, June 8th.

Join the daylong community celebration, including live entertainment, games, sidewalk sales and specials from their shops and restaurants.

The Hilldale Farmers Market is happening from 8am to 1 pm. Sidewalk and in-store sales and special deals will be offered throughout Hilldale all day long.

Here’s a look at what some of the businesses are offering on (608Day:

From 10am to 12:30pm, there will be free face painting on the Green; and from 2pm to 5pm, complimentary cotton candy will be offered in the Plaza.

Then from 3 to 8pm, Check out the 608 Cabaret Series. Ten different local singers will perform in the Plaza throughout the afternoon and evening, each raising money for a local organization, including non-profits like Outreach, the Center for Black Excellence, and more. You can also make a statement with a giant Madison-themed magnetic poetry wall, and pose for photos by their (608Day installation. There will also be outdoor lawn games and a new mini-golf set-up on the Green.
