In the 608: Food Traditions at Memorial Union Terrace
MADISON, Wis. – Living here in the 608 has a lot of perks, and food and drink are definitely high up there on the list.
There is something for everyone dining at Memorial Union, and that is part of what makes visits to the terrace so unique.
On-site dining options include: der Rathskeller, Carte, Strada, Badger Market, Daily Scoop, Peet’s Coffee, der Stiftskeller, the Brat Stand, and Lakeview Lounge.
The Memorial Union has in-house chefs and dining professionals creating options that are prepared, sold and served primarily by student staff.
The Wisconsin Union team says it is dedicated to incorporating local ingredients and products as much as possible into their dining options. When they studied ingredients sourcing in 2019, they learned that over 50-percent of their ingredients and products are sourced within 200 miles of Madison. For example, the Brat Stand buns are made in Appleton.
They make many menu items in-house, including dressings.

No reservations are needed. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Guests can order from a variety of dining options through Grubhub and in-person ordering at their counters. Food is to be picked up at each restaurant’s, market’s or cafe’s counter.
