In the 608: Cottage Grove F.D. receives grant from Gary Sinise Foundation
COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. – Over the past few years, the Cottage Grove Fire Department has been replacing gear for all 39 of its current members, purchasing 3-4 sets per year. They did this by using funds from their budget and fundraising endeavors.
Earlier this year, the department received a major boost from the Gary Sinise Foundation. It was a grant in the amount of $18,756 that allowed them to purchase an additional six full sets of new turnout gear.
Award winning actor Gary Sinise may be best known for his role as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump or Detective Mac Taylor on CSI: NY.
For nearly 40 years, his foundation has offered grants and assistance to American service members, first responders and their families.
CGFD is greatly honored and humbled to have been awarded these funds.
