Imogene “Jean” Ann (Fischer) Frank

MADISON-Jean Frank left this life on her eternal journey on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. She was born on May 28, 1931, in Kendall Township near Mineral Point, the daughter of August and Alice (McDermott) Fischer. She spent a few years of her early childhood on the farm where she was born, then the family moved to Mineral Point, where she grew up with her three brothers and two sisters.

Jean married Ted Frank on Oct. 8, 1955, after meeting at a dance in Sauk City. Together, they raised four sons and a daughter. She was a devoted mother who volunteered for numerous activities that her children were involved with, and greatly enjoyed their various sports. Jean spent several years as a volunteer at Queen of Apostles High School, and enjoyed making baptismal gowns and working for funeral lunches for St. Dennis Catholic Church, where she was a member for more than 50 years. Jean was also a member of Madison Elks Ladies Auxiliary and The Red Hats. She spent many years working part-time at the Antique Mall of Madison. Jean loved to travel, enjoying numerous cruises and over-sea trips, and checking out video-poker machines.

She is survived by her husband, Ted; sons, Stephen (Cindy), Kerry of Yuma, Ariz., Douglas (Cindy), and Craig (Brenda); daughter, Kristi (Mary Jo) of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Angela (Robert) Poster, Brandon, Kyle, Mitchell, Cory and Crysta Frank; sister, Mary Rink of Mineral Point; brother-in-law, Florian Frank (Dorothy); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul, Vince, and Donald; sister, Dodie Clark; and sister-in-law, Alice McGinley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding.
