Ill. teen accused of driving stolen vehicle into Green County
16-year-old boy faces multiple charges
TOWN OF SPRING GROVE, Wis. — A 16-year-old boy from Illinois is facing multiple charges after Wisconsin authorities said he drove a stolen vehicle across the state border.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office said deputies tried to stop the vehicle for speeding about 5 a.m. Tuesday in the town of Spring Grove. Authorities said the vehicle fled from deputies into Brodhead and crashed into a trash bin.
Authorities said the teen is from Freeport, Ill., and the vehicle was stolen from there. The vehicle sustained severe damage.
The teen was cited for speeding, violating driver’s license restrictions and reckless driving. Additional charges of fleeing are pending.
