Icy roads cause crashes Saturday evening, officials say
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Wis. — The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office reported in a news release two one-vehicle accidents that occurred within 10 minutes of each other Saturday evening.
Around 9:10 p.m., two crashes occurred, one on Holland Road in Kendall and another on State Trunk Highway 78 in Wiota, according to officials.
The release said Caley P. Carley, 17, of Belmont, was traveling on Holland Road when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions. Raynold R. Saalsaa, 54, of Argyle, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 78 when he also lost control due to road conditions.
Officials said Carley suffered minor injuries and his vehicle was towed with severe damage. Saalsaa’s vehicle sustained minor damage, but no injuries were reported.
