Ice prompts closure of Merrimac ferry
MERRIMAC, Wis. — The Merrimac ferry closed Tuesday because of ice in the landing area on the south side of the Wisconsin River.
The ferry, which began its 2017 season less than a week ago, will resume operations when the area is clear.
When conditions allow, the ferry shuttles Highway 113 traffic across the Wisconsin River 24 hours a day, seven days a week between Okee in Columbia County and Merrimac in Sauk County.
