MADISON, Wis. — The city of Madison Streets Division is providing two rounds of curbside collection for Christmas trees this year, a release said.

The first round was Jan. 2, but there is one more opportunity on Jan. 21.

The Streets Division will not be picking up wreaths, evergreen rope, garlands and boughs alongside Christmas trees as they contain wires or metal that could damage wood chipping equipment. Those items must be placed into the refuse.

To guarantee that your tree is picked up, residents must remove all tree stands regardless of material, all decorations, any tree bags and foreign objects. Trees must be placed on the terrace or road edge and be accessible by collection crews.

For those who would like to have their trees collected at the curb must have their trees on the curb by 7 a.m. on Jan. 21. Depending on weather conditions and crew availability, the trees will be collected prior to Feb. 7, 2020.

Residents can also bring trees to one of the streets division drop-off sites at 1501 W. Badger Road or 4602 Sycamore Ave. For more details, click here.
