Hottest weather since last September to hit southern Wisconsin
The heat and humidity have finally returned to southern Wisconsin.
A warm front that passed through overnight Thursday should bring the 90s back to the area Friday and Saturday.
News 3 meteorologist Haddie McLean said the combination of heat and humidity could lead to heat index values in the mid- to upper 90s Friday and Saturday.
“Temperatures haven’t been this warm since Labor Day weekend 2015,” said McLean. “We should have another hot and humid day on the way for Saturday before cooler weather and lower humidity return for Sunday.”
The heat may not be the only weather story this weekend. The National Weather Service has southern Wisconsin in a slight risk for severe weather on Friday and Saturday.
McLean said the risk of severe weather on Friday comes from a front that should pass through southern Wisconsin late Friday evening. She said the biggest risk from the front comes from hail and high winds. The rish Saturday comes from pop-up storms throughout the day.
