Hotel Week attracts visitors and locals
MADISON, Wis. — Madison Hotel Week ended Sunday and brought tourists in to experience what the capital city offers.
The Greater Madison Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has held the promotional week for several years, featuring discounted prices at various hotels. It helps out-of-towners plan their stay at an affordable price, especially those who want to get away for Valentine’s Day or avoid the chores at home.
“It’s kind of a way for Madison locals to feel what it’s like to be a tourist in this town,” said Joan Herzing, marketing manager of the Madison Concourse Hotel. “I think sometimes when you live here, you forget all about the amazing things there are to see and discover here.”
This year hotel week partnered with the Food Fight Restaurant Group to offer deals at 19 restaurants.
The simultaneous discounts encouraged both locals and visitors to experience Madison’s growing reputation as a foodie destination.
