Home hit by gunfire on Madison’s east side, police say

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating after gunfire struck someone’s home Tuesday morning.

A resident on the 3100 block of Forest Ridge called police at about 6:30 a.m. and said the incident happened some time overnight.

An incident report said the person woke up and found a bullet lodged in their nightstand after it pierced through an outside wall. Police also found a second bullet hole from outside the townhouse, according to Madison Police Department spokesperson Tyler Grigg.

No one was hurt, and officials do not believe the home was the target of the shooting. Police were unable to determine what time the shooting actually happened.
