Hilda Theiler, age 87, passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ on September 16, 2013.
She was born Hilda Furrer, the fourth daughter of Ulrich and Marguerith Furrer, in Hollandale, Wisconsin on December 2, 1925. Hilda was the youngest of six children that are now all with the Lord: Alice Furrer of Hollondale, Walter Furrer of Dodgeville, Werner Furrer of Spring Green, Agnes Schwoegler of Madison, and Helen Zurbuchen of Mt. Horeb.
Hilda graduated from Hollendale High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Platteville for several years prior to the end of WWII.
At the end of WWII she met, fell in love with, and married Fred Theiler from New Glarus, WI. They were lifelong residents in Madison where they were happily married for 63 years. They raised two children and Hilda was actively involved in all their activities from Cub Scouts to Girl Scouts to youth group outings. She loved to cook and cherished time in the summer to go camping with entire family on journeys across the country. She was very active in her church, Midvale Lutheran, where she served on chancel guilt and in a number of volunteers roles. She cherished gardening and the beauty of Gods outdoors.
Hilda endured the loss of her beloved daughter, Nancy Albrecht, of Middleton, WI, in 2005 and is survived by her son, Richard Theiler, of Paradise Valley, AZ and four grandchildren: Devan Mourtos of Sicklerville, NJ; Becky Moss of Tucson, AZ; Dana Theiler of Merrimac, NH; Carrie Albrecht of Madison, WI.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Midvale Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
