Hilda Heidenreich

Hilda Pauline (Hynek) Heidenreich, 99, of Richland Center passed away at Pine Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on October 24,2014.

She was born on April 25th, 1915 in Bloom Township to Paul V. and Nora Machovec Hynek. On October 14, 1936, she married William (Bill) Heidenreich in Richland Center. Together, they farmed on Horse Creek until moving to Richland Center in 1953.

In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, playing euchre, picking hickory nuts, fishing, archery, going to dances, sewing, crocheting, doing stitchery, and spending time at the cabin. However, her passion was quilting. She received many prizes for her quilts and had demonstrated quilting at the World Dairy Expo in Madison. She gave many of her quilts to be auctioned for charity fund raisers.

For many years, she clerked in several local stores. After retirement she continued quilting, delivered Meals on Wheels and enjoyed doing word searches.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Eleanor (Cal) Wise of Lakeland, FL and Barnes, WI; grandson Bill (Becky) Wise of Richland Center; granddaughter Becky (Greg) Exline of Silverthone, CO; great grandchildren Spec. Chloe Wise with the US Army in Monterey, CA; Ethan and Elizabeth Wise of Richland Center, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sisters; Elsie Sebranek and Stella Heidenreich; one brother, Bernie Hynek and a niece Sally Leeser.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the first floor staff at Pine Valley and to Dr. Smith for their competent and compassionate care the past two plus years. Mom said “I love it here.”
