Hiding in plain sight in Library Mall

Hiding in plain sight in the heart of Library Mall, the Wisconsin Historical Society’s Neoclassical Revival-style headquarters is a renowned resource for North American historical and genealogical materials. And its second-floor library reading room is a destination in its own right. Soaring, beautifully ornate ceilings and windows and period-style lights are the benefits of a 2010 renovation, which returned the room to its 1900-era glory. University students may pack the room’s long wood tables and leather reading chairs, but the grand space is always breathtakingly silent.
