Hidden camera found in pool locker room, man confesses to secretly taking photos

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Police arrested a Waukesha man Wednesday after receiving a report that someone had hidden a camera in the employee locker room at a swim school.

According to a Facbook post, when a 17-year-old swim instructor noticed a suspicious tissue box after she changed out of her swimsuit. When she inspected the tissue box, she found a camera inside of it. The owner of the business, Swimtastic, called the police to tell them they found a hidden camera.

The 17-year-old who found the camera also alerted another employee who then went into the locker room reportedly destroyed the camera. The 21-year-old employee then ran from the business before police arrived.

The 21-year-old male was later located by the West Milwaukee Police Department and turned over to the Waukesha Police Department. Police executed a search warrant on his home in search of the camera.

On Friday the 21-year-old confessed to using his personal phone as a camera and that he discarded it at Swimtastic. Staff at the business then located the phone and handed it over to police. A forensic investigation of the phone is ongoing.

Police said the camera was exclusively used in the employee changing room. The investigation has revealed that no clients of Swimtastic were victims of the crime.
