Help every child thrive by support Read Up program

We’re back. WISC -TV is once again partnering with the Wisconsin State Journal to support the Madison Metropolitan School District and the School and Community Recreation’s Read Up summer reading program, and we are again asking you to join us.

Last year you helped us raise over $80,000, and as a result Read Up was able to give five new free books to each child at four summer sites.

Almost 90 percent of those kids maintained or improved their reading scores, avoiding the typical “summer slide” in proficiency.

This year we’d like to grow the number of sites to six and the number of kids served to 1,000.

Help us please. You’ll find information on how to donate on, or in the Wisconsin State Journal.

We all were so impressed with this community’s response last year on behalf of our kids. Let’s get to it again. Get new books into these kids’ hands, and help every child thrive.
