Helen I. Littell
Helen I. Littell, age 95, of Janesville, died on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Cedar Crest.
She was born in Orfordville on Feb. 1, 1919, the daughter of Olaf John and Alma (Onsgard) Burtness. She married James Allen Littell in Janesville on Oct. 23, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1977. Helen was a member of First Lutheran Church where she spent a lot of time in the library, the Community Action Child Care, and the Breakfast Club at Roosevelt School. She was a talented seamstress and was very involved in her church.
Helen is survived by her 3 daughters: Linda (Frank) Vaitkus of Arizona, Jan (George) Rada of Brookfield and Julie (Joe) Steinman of Janesville; 5 grandchildren: Thad (Heidi) Vaitkus, Angie (Scott) Zak, Carrie (Kris) Schroeder, Emily (Dustin Broten) Steinman, and Joey (Amber Parker) Steinman; 6 great grandchildren: Cora, Alex, Evie, Will, Joseph and Rose; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Joyce; and 6 siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. Naomi Garber officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church.
