Helen F. Snyder
Helen F. Snyder, 97, passed peacefully on June 18, 2014, at the Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be held at 11am on Sat. June 21st, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Dan Verdegan officiating. A private family burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Sat. June 21st, from 9:30am to time of service at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Helen was born January 18, 1917 in Franklin Township, the daughter of Lemuel and Henrietta Cooper. Helen married Robert Snyder in Muscoda on March 26, 1948. They lived in Madison, then Elkhorn, and moved to Cuba City in 1963. Helen was a talented woman: she and Bob built most of their house on West Clay Street; she enjoyed many crafts and was a gifted seamstress. She also worked at the Badger Munitions Plant in Baraboo, WI during WWII. Her greatest joy came from family; Christmas and family get-togethers were the dearest of all her days. Helen is survived by her daughters: Pat Budd of Mt. Holly, NC; Diane Burtness of Elkhorn, WI; Vicki (Jim) Fiedler of Georgetown, TX; Susan (Harry) Hefel of Sherrill, IA; and 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Also, sister-in-laws Marj Bursack, Carol Dettl, Kate Melgard, Maxine Snyder; brother-in-laws: Jack Martell and Marshall Melgard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; brothers Bert Cooper and Clyde Cooper; sisters Agnes Brokaw and Evelyn Krieger; brother-in-laws Jack Brokaw, Glen Snyder, Norbert Snyder, Jack Dettl, and Vilas Bursack; sister-in-laws Alice Cooper and Shirley Martell; and son-in-law Bob Burtness.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church in Cuba City.
