Helen C. Singer
Helen C. Singer, age 92, of Lodi, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on March 22, 1925, in Cloquet, Minn., the daughter of Peder and Ella (Jorgensen) Hegland. She married Gilbert Singer on Nov. 22, 1945 in Racine. Helen loved to spend time with family and friends, and always enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee and a sweet treat. She was dedicated to her church and church family, an inspiration with true devotion. Helen was involved in outdoor activities throughout her lifetime; including snow skiing, biking, swimming, walking and bird watching. With every Cardinal sighting you can know that she is there. Helen was a sports fan; cheering for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers.Other pastimes include reading, knitting (at the speed of lightning) and baking. Helen had a favorite quote, that she lived by. “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” Franklin D. Roosevelt Helen is survived by her sons, Fred (Paula), Tim (Brenda), John (Jackie Czehno), Peter; daughter, Darla (Greg) Riese; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Hegland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gil; sons, Bruce and Paul Singer; grandson, Michael Singer; and brother, Sig Hegland.
Funeral services will be held at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3099 Smith Road, Poynette, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, with Pastor Ryan Rouse presiding. Burial will be at Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from Noon until the time of service on Saturday.
