Helen C. Richard
Helen Cecelia Richard, age 77 of North Freedom, WI., entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 11, 2012, surrounded by her family at Merriter Hospital in Madison, WI.
She was born March 27th, 1935 in Stanley, WI to DeWitt and Laurelda Emery. The family settled in Prairie du Sac, where she graduated from High School. She married her high school sweetheart Doward Richard on October 4th, 1952. They just observed their 60th Wedding Anniversary. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, crocheting, designing many of her own patterns, glass blowing, painting and hundreds of jigsaw puzzles. As well as being a farm wife and gardener, she also was a care giver to Omer and Laura Richard, her parents-in-law. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved having family around for her meals.
She is survived by her husband Doward; five children, Rick (Terri), Lea (Rick) Tourdot, Dan, Cindy (Mark) Bender, and Scott (Johannah Breunig); eleven grandchildren, Mark, Jessica Calvo, Wade Tourdot, Wendy Pierce, Travis, Ryan, Dana, Bridgette Rhyner, Darcy, and Kari; along with seventeen great-grandchildren, Ridge, Josephine, Deakin, Emerson, Dalton, McKayla, Hunter,Tammarin, Tristin, TJ, Sawyer, Johanna, Colton, Troy, Isaiah, Emma, Dylan, and extended family of Russell and Judy Richard. She is further survived by one brother and three sisters, along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, three sisters, one sister in-law, one brother-in-law, one daughter-in-law, one great-grandson, and eight nephews.
Helen’s wishes were to have a private service.
