Hazmat crew called to west side home

Hazmat team investigates why 10 people got sick at Watertown church

A hazmat crew was called to a home on Madison’s west side Thursday afternoon after the residents experienced symptoms of inhaling irritants, according to a release from the Madison Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the 6300 block of Landfall Drive at 1:48 p.m. and found the residents outside experiencing symptoms related to possible irritant inhalation. The hazmat team was called to assist.

The team entered the home four times before finding the source of the irritant and mitigating it.

The residents were able to return to their homes safely.
