Hazel M. Hamaker, 90, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA.
A memorial service will be 11am on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Calvin Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Thursday, August 30 from 4pm-7pmat the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services and on Friday from 9:30am till time of service at the funeral home.
Hazel was born on December 27, 1921 to Raymond & Bernice (Nickols) DuBord in Galena, IL. She married Edward Smith in 1941, he was a paratrooper shot down during WWII,she later married Donald Hamaker on January 27, 1946. She worked for the Cuba City Schools in the school lunch program for 14 years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Hazel is survived by 3 daughters: Shirley (Bill) Graney of Beulah, ND, Linda (LeRoy)Unbehaun of Lime Ridge, WI and Lori (Gary) Rutledge of Castle Rock, WA; 3 sons, Glen(Cathy) of Battle Ground, WA, Dean (Cindy) of Hudson, WI and Pete (Vickie) of Beauford, SC;a sister, Eleanor Funk of Galena, IL; best friend,Fred “Fritz”Hofer of Cuba City, WI; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents;1st husband Edward Smith; husband, DonaldHamaker, a daughter, Sue Rutledge, a son Edward Smith.
