Hayes named Big Ten Freshman of the Week
Wins award for third time this season
MADISON — Badger freshman forward Nigel Hayes has been named the Big Ten men’s basketball Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.
Hayes scored 14 points in both of the Badger’s wins at Illinois Wednesday and home against Michigan State Sunday.
Hayes is averaging 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game during Big Ten play, while ranking second in the conference in field goal percentage (.582) during league games.
Hayes has now been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week more times than any other player in UW history.
