MADISON-Harry “Honey Boy” Chamberlain, age 82, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at his home.
He was born on June 6, 1931, in Madison, the son of Clyde and Mary (Greenwell) Chamberlain. He married Kay Ihde on Nov. 11, 1950 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. They were childhood sweethearts, and together ever since. Harry worked for the city of Madison Streets Department for 41 years, as a supervisor. He was an avid hunter and fishermen. He was the best dad and grandpa, and also the kindest, most generous man to all.
Harry is survived by his son, Ron (Kim) Chamberlain; his daughter, Sandy (Dave) Sweeney; his son-in-law, John (Lisa) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Bryan Chamberlain, Kris (Jes) Sweeney, Kacy (Schuyler) Pierce, Christine (Righteous) Gonzalez and Alex Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, John Luke Thomas, Evan Sweeney, Morgan and Bailey Pierce and KayLynn Durham; and special friend, Bonnie Wedig. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lynn Gonzalez; sisters, Joyce DeWeese and Patricia Chamberlain; Mary Pavlinik; and a brother, Clyde (Bud) Chamberlain.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. A private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, Feb.10, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church.
A special thank you to Tom for all the hours you spent with Harry reading. Also a special thank you to our angel, Bill, for making it possible for dad to come home. Harry will be greatly missed by his family, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends and neighbors.
