Growing the Good
Steve White returns to Madison to join BMO Wealth Management’s dynamic local team of professionals. He brings 25 years of experience to the Madison office and looks forward to helping clients meet their personal and charitable goals with wealth.
Steve White’s new role as managing director for the BMO Wealth Management Madison office represents a homecoming. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the UW and now leads a talented team of professionals committed to helping clients optimize and preserve their wealth while actively serving in the community.
“I’m excited to be leading one of the most highly experienced and credentialed wealth management teams in the area and helping BMO continue to have a real impact growing the good in Madison,” White says.
He is succeeding his good friend Anthony Hudson, who remains active in Madison leading BMO’s national EMpower initiative to address key barriers facing minority-owned businesses, families and communities.
White brings 25 years of experience advising high-net-worth families. He previously served as national leader for BMO’s Business Owner Strategies and Solutions team, focusing on sophisticated wealth transfer and succession planning. “Our team plays a key role partnering with our commercial bankers and other advisors to help our business owner clients navigate the ever-changing tax landscape and prepare for future business transitions,” White says.
The BMO Wealth Management team offers a comprehensive range of services, including investment management, trust, banking, lending and a full suite of planning resources for financial, estate and philanthropic legacy planning.
“Our mission is to help our clients envision what is possible with their wealth,” White says. He believes wealth planning conversations too often lead clients to unnecessarily worry about outliving their savings, rather than enjoying what they’ve built.
“Longevity risk is something we certainly plan for to ensure our clients will always be financially secure. But our primary focus is helping our clients avoid the ‘risk of regret’ by having a solid wealth plan in place that confirms they’ll have the financial freedom to live out their bucket list, enjoy retirement and see the joys of giving during their lifetime.”
