Group ready to send U-Haul of fabric donations to Fort McCoy

MADISON, Wis. — A group in the Madison community is still working to help out refugees at Fort McCoy.

Nearly two months after a first drive, another group is preparing to load a U-Haul full of fabric to donate.

Organizers said they have been expanding their outreach to church groups and have received an incredible amount of donations.

“One morning I woke up and there were people from Minnesota and Milwaukee on my porch,” said organizer Cynthia Hirsch. “It seems like a lot of people have fabric they would like to give to a good cause.

The women behind the effort suggest that those interested in donating check out lists of needs from organizations such as Catholic Charities.
