Group hosts annual event to support homeless veterans
MADISON, Wis. — The Wayne D. Horner Memorial Stand Down, Inc. hosted its annual event Saturday to assist homeless veterans.
The non-profit organization hosted the event at the Salvation Army on Darbo Drive.
The group provides services and resources to veterans who are experiencing homelessness or veterans at risk of being homeless and their family members.
Veterans seeking support from Stand Down – Madison can expect to be treated with dignity, respect and kindness, organizers said.
“Veterans who are experiencing homelessness, it can be really difficult to again access to all of the providers or services they may need to help give them a hand up,” said organizer Angie Nickles.
