Group holds dedication ceremony for Madison’s new Jewish cemetery, garden

MADISON, Wis. — The Jewish Burial Association of Madison hosted a dedication ceremony Sunday for its newest cemetery and its focal point, the Garden of Peace.

The cemetery — Beit Olamim — is at Sunset Memory Gardens on Tree Lane. The garden — Get HaShalom — was envisioned, designed and donated by Kathy and Tim Mazur.

Everyone on Sunday was welcome to see the garden, hear from local rabbis, and join in learning, song and prayer.

Organizers said the site will serve the community’s needs for the next 30-50 years. The garden is open to the Madison community as a serene place to reflect and enjoy peace.
